Supposed that you are in the
Human Resource Department at Sun, your task is to decide which of these three
letters best matches and elaborates your needs as highlighted in the job
description and requirements. Review and evaluate the content of these letters
on the basis of:

for in an employee;

The requirements of the
position;
·
The persuasiveness of evidence
provided by the applicants

I think, if I was in the Human Resources Department, I
would choose application letter 1. It’s stated in application 1:"Using your database on the
Internet to locate job opportunities, I noticed your summer internship
opening for a Web Technologist". Here clearly the applicant writes down
the position to be applied for that is being sought by the company.
The requirements of the position are also written by
the applicant "As my résumé illustrates, my work involving Web related
activities has been extensive. I have installed, configured, and maintained a
Web server for both Software Development Lab at North Carolina State
University and for Mechanical Graphics Support Center (MGSC) at IBM I am the
Web Master for the home page of the MGSC Department at IBM and for the
Navigators at Duke University In addition, I acquired programming experiences
at IBM, writing CGI's and developing the Mechanical Technology Center Product
Manager, a Web-based product manager for IBM's Network Hardware Engineering
Department During a Coop with Federal Express, I contributed to the software
engineering development process and wrote C ++ code. Currently, I am running
in JAVA programming and Software Engineering classes.
The
persuasiveness of evidence provided by the applicants is indicated by
the sentences "While pursuing a degree
in Computer Science at North Carolina State University, I have been active in
the University Scholars Program. This program has broadened my knowledge of
and appreciation for peoples of many culture and beliefs; I would apply this
awareness in my work at Sun that requires collaboration with diverse team
members.
