Video 1: Report on the Job of a Sales Manager
Sales
manager is someone who is responsible for leading and guiding a team of sales
people in an organization.
Sales
manager’s responsibilities vary with the size of the organization they work
for. Sales managers in the hospitality industry plan hotel stays as well as
special events like weddings, conferences and reunions. Sales managers think
strategically and offer packages that make the most sense for both their
company and their clients. Sales manager needs to work with people in other
departments and with customers, so he/she must be able to communicate
clearly. When helping to make a sale, sale manager must listen and respond to
the customer’s needs. However, most sales managers direct the distribution of
goods and services by assigning sales territories, setting sales goals, and
establishing training programs for the organization’s sales representatives.
In some cases, sales manager recruits, hires, and trains new members of the
sales staff. He or she advises sales representatives on ways to improve their
sales performance.
In
California, there are over 80,659 businesses in within the hospitality and
tourism industry in 2013. In the next five years, it is projected that there
will be over 9,000 job openings for sales managers in all industries,
including hospitality and tourism, in California. Salaries for sales managers

Pest
Control Advisors are licensed professional production consultants who serve
agriculture producers. PCAs specialize in pest management, and help farmers
and other agriculturalists make decisions about protecting their crops. The
agriculture, water and environmental technology industry sector in California
is made up of over 27,000 businesses. In the next five years, it is projected
that there will be over 2,800 job openings for pest control workers and
pesticide handlers in California. Salaries for pest control workers and
pesticide handlers range from 12 to 19 dollars per hour. This career

Mammography
technologists are a specialized branch of radiologic technologists that focus
on mammography scanning and diagnostics. Within California’s health care
industry, there were over 79,000 businesses in 2013. In the next five years,
it is projected that there will be approximately three thousand job openings
for radiologic technologists in California. Some of those job openings will
be for specialists in mammography technology. Salaries for radiologic
technologists range from $27 to $41 dollars per hour. Mammography
Technologists typically earn salaries within that range. This career
