1. Pengertian Hortatory Exposition Text : 

     Hortatory Exposition Text adalah jenis teks yang menyajikan argumen atau alasan untuk mendukung pendapat. Hal ini bertujuan untuk memengaruhi pembaca untuk melakukan sesuatu atau bertindak dalam hal tertentu. 

  Perbedaan analitis dan menegur eksposisi adalah pada struktur generik di bagian terakhir yang disebut sebagai pengulangan dalam analisis dan rekomendasi dalam eksposisi menegur.
    Fungsi kedua sangat berbeda. Dalam eksposisi analitis, pengulangan digunakan untuk memberikan penekanan pada pendapat penulis berdasarkan sudut pandang ulangan. Sementara di eksposisi menegur, rekomendasi digunakan untuk memberikan nasihat atau saran tersebut untuk pembaca untuk membuat pilihan dengan mempertimbangkan argumen yang disajikan. Singkatnya tujuan teks eksposisi menegur adalah untuk berdebat kasus untuk melawan posisi atau sudut pandang tertentu dan tujuan saran pada akhir argumentasi. Beberapa contoh eksposisi menegur adalah: Editorial, surat kepada editor, dan surat kepada seorang politikus.

2. Generic structure Hortatory Exposition Text :
    Terdapat 3 macam struktur pada kalimat atau paragraf teks Hortatory Exposition, Yaitu: 

 1. Thesis / Sebuah Pernyataan Pengantar :
    Thesis berisi tentang pengenalan ide pokok penulis tentang suatu peristiwa atau kejadian yang akan diangkat atau dibahas. Ini terdiri dari titik penulis pandang (tesis), preview argumen yang akan mengikuti bagian berikutnya, dan pertanyaan atau pernyataan emosional untuk mendapatkan perhatian pembaca.

2. Arguments
   Arguments berisi tentang pendapat-pendapat yang mendukung ide pokok penulis. Semakin banyak pendapat yang penulis tuliskan, semakin menarik sebuah Hortatory Exposition Text itu, karena pembaca cenderung percaya terhadap suatu peristiwa jika terdapat banyak pendapat yang mendukung di dalamnya.

Arguments biasanya untuk mendukung tentang tesis. Oleh karena itu diperlukan beberapa persyaratan. dijelaskan sebagai berikut;

3. Recommendation
   Recommendation berisi tentang Pernyataan tentang rekomendasi atau ajakan penulis terhadap pembaca untuk melakukan sesuatu yang ada kaitan nya pada Tesis dan arguments.

3. Ciri Bahasa Hortatory Exposition Text :
Pola tata bahasa yang umum dalam Hortatory Exposition Text meliputi:

1.            Menggunakan simple present tense

2.            Menggunakan Action verbs: value, dll.

3.            Menggunakan temporal Connectives: firstly, secondly, thirdly, dll.

4.            Menggunakan evaluative words; importanly, valuablly, trustworthly, dll.

Example of hortatory exposition about Country Concern / Kepedulian Negara

Thesis
  In all discussion over the removal of leaded vehicles from petrol (and atmosphere) there doesn’t seem to have been any mention of the difference between driving in the city and the country.


Argument 1

 While I realize my leaded petrol car is polluting the air wherever I drive, I feel that when you travel through the country, where you only see another car every five to ten minutes, the problem is not as severe as when traffic is concentrated on city roads.

Argument 2
  Those who want to penalize older, leaded petrol vehicles and their owners don’t seem to appreciate that in the country there is no public transport to fall back upon and one’s own vehicle is the only way to get about.

Recommendation 
  I feel that country people, who often have to travel huge distances to the nearest town and who already spend a great deal of money on petrol, should be treated differently to the people who live in the city.

Thesis
  Do you know what the meaning of corruption is? What is the relation between money and corruption? Well, corruption is common everywhere in the world, even in the United States. It’s just a matter of intensity. However, it is quite shocking when one reliable survey claims Jakarta as the most corrupt place in Indonesia.

Argument 1
  The survey has made me sad, actually, because I stay and earn a living here in the capital. As most people know, Tanjung Priok port smuggling is not a new thing at all. Entrepreneurs who want to minimize their tax payments tend to do such a thing more often. They even bribe the officials.

Argument 2
  Well, I think the measures taken so far to overcome the problem by punishing the corruptors is still not far enough. We have to prevent the younger generations from getting a bad mentality caused by corruption.

Recommendation
  I believe we should start at the earliest stages in school and I think everyone should be involved in the effort to eradicate corruption. We must not make any distinction.

Example of hortatory exposition about Where should be after High School?

Thesis 
   The National examination result will be publicly enounced in next short time. Euphoria will flood for those who get success. In the other hand, It will be sorry to hear that there are some of them do not succeed in their national final examination. For those who succeed soon will think to decide; where will they be after graduating high school? Actually it will be easy to decide for those has been arranged and thought earlier but for those have not planed yet, it will be quite confusing.

Argument 1
   Continuing study or looking for work is the primary choice among them. When they think about continuing study, they will think hard about the time and cost. How long the higher study will last? And how high is about the cost. In the same way, when they think about straightly seeking job, what skill and competence they have got is a big matter of questioning. So, doing both choices in the same time is an alternative.

Argument 2
   Continuing study as well as seeking job is possibly done but it will be hard for them. Conventionally studying in the university needs much time to spend especially in the first year. It is true because they have to do and adapt a lot of things in their new higher school. it will be very hard to looking for job. Therefore it should come to their mind of continuing studying at higher school from their own home. As result, the available time will be more flexible for them. Then it will be very possible to seek job and get the appropriate one. This type of studying is publicly known as distance learning.

Recommendation
  As the alternative method of studying, besides the conventional studying which students and the lecturer have to meet in the fixed time and place regularly, distance learning provides possibility to grow better. Possibly working and studying surely will create high quality graduate. Distance learning should appear as a considerable choice for them.

Indonesia‘s Economic Growth Anomaly

Thesis:

In the midst of a global economy condition crisis hit Indonesia‘s economic growth, the record showed positive results. In the second quarter of this year compared with the same period of last year, Indonesia’s economy grew about 6.4 percent. This growth remains still terpust in Java with the growth amounted to 57.5 percent. If the accumulated economic growth of Indonesia, the first half of the year 2012 is better compared to the first half of the year grew about 6.3 percent.

Argumentation:

Meanwhile, A Tony Prasetiantono, the economic Observer from Gadjah Mada University,Indonesia‘s economic growth argued, supported by the domestic sector. According to him,the effects of the global crisis through the trading balance deficit and the decline in exportswill be felt on the third and fourth quarter of this year. He considers the contribution ofexports to GDP is not great.

Similar with that of Mirza Adityaswara, Economist delivered, that a number of economicsectors in the country are growing because low interest rates supported by the. Thisappears to be from loan growth which reached 26-28 percent at once driven by low fuel prices because it is still subsidized by the Government. It further revealed that Mirza,domestic-oriented sectors experiencing growth is high, such as automotive, manufacturing, transportation, communications and trade. As a result, the growth in domestic-orientedsector resulted in a trade balance deficit trend getting bigger.

Beliau beralasan, pertumbuhan ekonomi ini tidak diikuti dengan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Lebih lanjut daeng menjelaskan, sekurang-kurangnya ada empat faktor yang membuat ekonomi Indonesia mengalami anomali. Pertama, perekonomian Indonesia banyak digerakkan oleh utang asing yang nilainya terus naik. “Utang Indonesia mencapai Rp. 2.865 triliun. Utang asing pemerintah meningkat setiap tahunnya. Utang ini menjadi sumber penghasilan utama pemerintah dan menjadi pendorong tumbuhnya ekonomi Indonesia,” papar Daeng.

Kedua, peningkatan konsumsi masyarakat disinyalir ikut mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia. Konsumsi masyarakat yang meningkat bersumber dari harga sandang dan pangan yang mengalami kenaikan, serta ditopang oleh pertumbuhan kredit terutama kredit konsumsi. Ketiga, ekonomi Indonesia pertumbuhannya didorong oleh ekspor bahan mentah, misalnya hasil perkebunan, hutan, migas dan bahan tambang, sehingga kurang menciptakan nilai tambah dan lapangan pekerjaan. Faktor terakhir, ekonomi Indonesia pertumbuhannya didorong oleh investasi asing yang membuat sumber daya alam Indonesia makin dikuasai asing.

Sementara itu, A Tony Prasetiantono, Pengamat Ekonomi dari Universitas Gadjah Mada, berpendapat, pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia didukung oleh sektor domestik. Menurut beliau, efek krisis global melalui defisit neraca perdangan dan penurunan ekspor baru akan terasa pada kuartal ketiga dan keempat tahun ini. Beliau menganggap kontribusi ekspor terhadap PDB tidak besar.

Senada dengan itu, ekonom Mirza Adityaswara menyampaikan, bahwa sejumlah sector ekonomi dalam negeri tumbuh karena didukung oleh suku bunga rendah.
