TIPS MENJAWAB SOAL TOEFL (LISTENING SKILL 1)
Skill 1: Focus on the Second Line (Fokus pada baris ke dua)
In Listening Part A you will hear a short conversation involving two people; this conversation is followed by a question. It is important to understand that the answer to this type of question is more often (but not always) found in the second line of the conversation.
Dalam listening part A Anda akan mendengar sebuah percakapan pendek antar dua orang; percakapan ini diikuti satu pertanyaan. Perlu diketahui bahwa kata kunci tipe pertanyaan ini lebih sering (tapi tidak selalu) berada di baris ke dua dari percakapan.
The second line of the conversation indicates that Billy forgot to turn in his paper, and this mean that he did not remember to submit his assignment. The best answer is therefore answer (D).
Pada baris ke dua mengindikasikan bahwa Billy lupa mengumpulkan tugas penelitiannya (he forgot to turn in his research paper), dan itu berarti dia tidak ingat untuk mengumpulkan tugasnya (he didn't remember to submit his assignment). Jawaban paling tepat oleh karena itu adalah jawaban D.
STRATEGI 1: FOKUS PADA BARIS TERAKHIR
- Baris terakhir dari percakpan kemungkinan berisik jawaban atas pertanyaan yang ada.
- Dengarkan baris pertama dari dialog. Jika Anda mengerti, bagus. Jika Anda tidak menangkapnya, jangan khawatir karena kemungkinan kata kunci jawabannya berada di baris ke dua.
- Bersiaplah untuk fokus mendengarkan baris ke dua karea di situlah kemungkinaan besar berisi jawaban. Terus ulangi ide baris ke dua dalam pikiran Anda selagi Anda mencari jawaban sesuai di buku soal Anda.
